TELEVISION PROGRAMS - Banquo's Wagon™

BANQUO’S WAGON™
Roberto Mighty Productions' New Animated Musical Children’s Television Series! (in development, 2008)

Banquo is truly exciting. It conveys such a richness of culture, good times, respect, role models...thanks so much for letting us see these.” — Christine San José, Ph.D., Senior Editor, Highlights for Children

Banquo is a mysterious street vendor. His wares are the icons of legends from around the world: An African drum. Seven league boots. The hammer of Thor. A samurai suit. Four multi-ethnic American kids are walking home from school when they meet Banquo. He reveals his magic powers to them after they perform a simple act of kindness.

“For sheer heart and soul--not to mention the educational aspects, Banquo’s Wagon™ is one of the better children’s video productions around.” Billboard Magazine.

Through Banquo’s wagon, the Kids sing and dance their way through myths, legends, fairytales and folk tales from around the globe. Without even realizing it, they learn languages, geography, history and science. The Kids also discover that immigrants and foreigners are people just like themselves.

This is an excellent bridge to multicultural understanding, for children 6 to 10. – Catherine Catchpole, Video Business Magazine.

Roberto Mighty is the Creator, Songwriter, and Producer of Banquo’s Wagon. “Banquo’s Wagon represents the multi-ethnic world I grew up in as a military brat. My family lived in Puerto Rico, Alaska, Florida, Texas and New York. My Dad is from Panama. My Mom is from Cincinnati. I went to school with kids who were Jewish, Italian, Irish and African-American. Banquo’s Wagon™ takes all of those elements from my upbringing and combines them with upbeat, funky music. Before I was a filmmaker and television producer, I was a songwriter and musician. Banquo’s Wagon™ is an idealized musical version of my life as a child.”
