After my hero, Vermeer, I used totally natural light streaming in from a window. I experimented with placing the subjects at different distances from the window and from the suede green back wall. The light played ethereally in their eyes, and I was transfixed, making subtle adjustments to focus, depth of field, aperture and angle without even thinking.
