"This sesion was in my studio. I used a large softbox off to one side for a chiaroscuro effect, and a very subtle backlight to bring out the highlights in the hair cascading from the left side of her head. Color was important. The black blouse is right in her palate. We spent a lot of the session talking and telling funny stories. When she threw her head back to laugh unselfconsciously, I seized the moment and clicked the shutter. I shot at a slow speed, so there is a subtle motion blur around her face that is not present below her neck"
