NEW MIDLIFE DATING REALITY SHOW BEATS 'FRIENDS' IN RATINGS
"PossLTR," the first reality TV show about midlife dating, beat out "Wheel of Fortune," "Friends", and "Entertainment Tonight" when the single-market pilot hit the airwaves Saturday, March 26 at 7 p.m. on WCVB-TV Channel Five, Boston's ABC affiliate.
The half-hour show, which matched two divorced singles, Lauren and Jeff, and sent them on an all-expenses-paid blind date in Boston, received outstanding ratings and drew a slightly larger male than female audience in the critical 18-to-49 viewing demographic.
The show also included advice and commentary from relationship experts who discussed the match, and the do's and don'ts of dating for those 35 and older. Jeff and Lauren are also parents, adding to the high stakes for dating singles who also juggle parental and other midlife responsibilities.
An active hour-long Live Web Chat after the show proved to Executive Producer Roberto Mighty that not only does "PossLTR" (personals jargon for "possible longterm relationship") entertain, but it is also television programming the public needs and wants.
Most experts agree that up to 50% of US marriages end in divorce, with the rate for second marriages even higher. PossLTR staff notes that the program has the potential to touch the majority of households in America.
"Key parts of the next several episodes of 'PossLTR' are already in the can," Mighty said. "we're ready to get green lighted at this point."
His production company, Celestial Media Inc., is looking for sponsorship for the full "PossLTR" series. Mighty is confident "PossLTR" is what the national networks need and want, given the soaring ratings
score.
Mighty has been producing prime-time network-affiliate TV programming for more than 10 years. His other programs include "This Amazing House," "Food New England," and "SoundChek!" -- all lifestyle shows. "PossLTR " is the first TV reality program about midlife dating, including dating after divorce, and has been three years in development. Celstial Media Inc. is based in the Greater Boston area. -------------------------------

I haven't been with anyone besides my former spouse for years. Will I be able to satisfy someone else?"
