KolorGirlz: SPONSORSHIP
KolorGirlz is an ambitious project: Filmmaker Roberto Mighty is filming public performances and intimate personal details of the lives of seven woman comedians of color from across the United States.
The KolorGirlz production office is actively seeking non-editorially involved sponsorship from non-profits, foundations and corporations. Funding sponsorship is best, but we are also willing to consider in-kind sponsorships that would help the production.
For about a year, Roberto has advanced his time, equipment, travel expenses and communications expenses to the production. He is not in a position to do that any longer. Now, he needs your help to finish bringing KolorGirlz to the screen.
The production is pleased to announce that KolorGirlz has recently been accepted by the prestigious Independent Feature Project (IFP) in New York for fiscal sponsorship. With this sponsorship in place, contributions to KolorGirlz through IFP are tax-deductible. IFP is an established tax-exempt public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code).

What goes in to making a film of this type? Travel expenses for KolorGirlz include trips to interview family, friends and associates of the Comedians in LA, Houston, Chicago, Georgia, New York, Massachusetts, and Maine. There are expensive technical requirements for making a theatrical documentary film, including equipment rentals, tape stock, archival footage research and licensing, mastering costs, legal and bookkeeping fees, and distribution and publicity expenses.
