KolorGirlz is an ambitious project: Filmmaker Roberto Mighty is filming public performances and intimate personal details of the lives of seven woman comedians of color from across the United States.

WHY SHOULD YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THE KOLORGIRLZ PROJECT?

KolorGirlz will change the way you look at race, women and sex.

Jesters and outsiders have the right to speak truth to power, if that truth is cloaked in comic garb. KolorGirlz shows the ways these modern "jester outsiders" — foreigners, minorities, sexually outspoken women— reveal provocative truths about societal beliefs.

The popular media want women to be polite and pretty. A woman who doesn't fit the "kewpie doll" mode, or who has things to say that are edgy and not always comfortable to hear, will ALWAYS be shoved to the outer edges of the cultural radar. When you donate to the KolorGirlz project, you're taking a stand that these brave and talented women deserve a chance to be heard.

The production is pleased to announce that KolorGirlz has recently been accepted by the prestigious Independent Feature Project (IFP) in New York for fiscal sponsorship. With this sponsorship in place, contributions to KolorGirlz through IFP are tax-deductible. IFP is an established tax-exempt public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code).

All KolorGirlz donors' names will be listed in the film credits. You’ll also be automatically signed up to receive the KolorGirlz e-newsletter, and you’ll receive advance notification regarding key developments as KolorGirlz gets closer to its release date. As a Donor, you'll receive advance notice and a special invitation to the film's premier after-party.

Please print, fill out, sign and mail the form below to the KolorGirlz office with your check. Important: To receive your tax deduction, your check must be made out to our IRS-approved fiscal sponsor, the Independent Feature Project. Make check out as follows: IFP Fiscal Sponsorship. Be sure to put “KolorGirlz” in the subject line. The KolorGirlz staff will record your contribution and your message and forward your check to the IFP.
